Privacy Policy

Fear Me explores surveillance and loss of privacy. Here, we choose transparency over observation. This is how we protect your data—and why.

Who Controls Your Data—And Who Doesn't

Let me be clear about my identity: I operate fearmegame.site, the platform where you access Fear Me. I did not create Fear Me itself—that distinction belongs to the game's developers. This matters for privacy: I control the platform's data collection, but I have zero access to what happens inside Fear Me itself.

This privacy policy explains exactly what I can see, what I cannot see, and why that distinction protects your privacy better than most platforms. In Fear Me, hidden observation is a source of fear. Here, I want observation to be transparent and limited.

How to Reach Me About Privacy:

  • 📧 Email: [email protected] — Privacy concerns get priority. Email me directly if you have questions
  • 🌐 Website: https://fearmegame.site — The platform itself, which we'll discuss in detail below
  • ⏰ Response Commitment: Within 48 hours for privacy-related inquiries, often faster
  • 🌍 Languages: I can discuss privacy policies in English and Chinese. Privacy shouldn't be lost in translation

The Technical Wall: How iframe Isolation Protects You

In Fear Me, boundaries are constantly tested. Here, I've built a technical boundary that works in your favor: Fear Me runs inside an iframe, which creates a digital separation between my platform and the game itself. This isn't a security measure against you—it's a privacy protection for you.

🖥️ The Technical Reality

Game Server (Separate Domain)

✅ Complete data isolation by design

✅ Cross-origin restrictions enforce separation

✅ Your game choices are invisible to me

What This Technical Boundary Actually Means:

  • 🔒 Domain Isolation: Fear Me runs on a completely different domain. Browser security prevents cross-origin data access—this isn't a policy choice, it's a technical impossibility I cannot bypass
  • 🚫 Zero Game Data Visibility: I literally cannot see your game choices, your progress, which endings you've unlocked, or anything that happens inside Fear Me. The iframe creates a wall I cannot peer over
  • 🌐 Platform Data Only: I only see platform-level data: that you visited the page, how long you stayed, what device you used. Nothing about your Fear Me experience
  • 🛡️ Layered Protection: Your privacy has two layers: my commitment to transparency, and technical isolation that makes observation impossible even if I wanted to breach that commitment

This separation is fundamental to how the platform works. I couldn't access your game data even if I wanted to—which I don't. But the technical barrier ensures your Fear Me journey remains private, regardless of policy changes or future decisions.

What I Actually See—And What I Don't

In Fear Me, characters often don't know who's watching or what information is being gathered. Here, I want you to know exactly what I can observe and what remains invisible to me. This transparency is deliberate—it's the opposite of Fear Me's themes of hidden surveillance.

🌐 Website Analytics (Anonymized)

I use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand basic platform usage: page views, session duration, device types, and general location (country-level, not precise). This is aggregated and anonymized—I see patterns, not individuals. I cannot identify you from this data.

🔧 Technical Information (Necessary for Functionality)

Browser type, screen resolution, operating system—the technical details needed to ensure the platform works on your device. Your IP address is logged in anonymized form (first three octets removed) for security purposes, but I cannot use it to identify you personally.

📝 Voluntary Contact Information

Only what you choose to share through contact forms or direct email. If you reach out, I see your message and email address. I don't store this beyond what's necessary to respond, and I never share it unless legally required.

❌ What I Explicitly Cannot See (And Why)

Your Fear Me choices: Which dialogue options you pick, which endings you pursue, your moral decisions—all invisible to me. The iframe isolation makes this technically impossible.

Game progress: Save states, completion status, unlocked content—completely private. I don't track this because I cannot access it.

Personal identifiers: Your name, real email (unless you contact me), physical location (beyond country), or any data that could identify you as an individual—I don't collect what I don't need.

Why I Need This Information—And What I Don't Do With It

In Fear Me, information is often gathered for manipulation and control. Here, I gather minimal information for practical purposes: keeping the platform functional and improving your experience. The difference matters.

Legitimate Uses of Platform Data:

  • 🌐 Platform Maintenance: Analytics help me understand if pages are loading correctly, if certain browsers have issues, or if mobile users need better optimization. This is practical, not invasive
  • 🔧 Problem Diagnosis: When you report a bug, technical data helps me reproduce and fix it. "Works on my machine" isn't helpful—browser/device info is
  • 📊 Performance Tuning: Understanding load times and user flow helps me optimize the platform so Fear Me loads faster and more reliably
  • 📧 Communication: If you contact me, I need your email to respond. That's the purpose, and I don't use it beyond that
  • ⚖️ Legal Obligations: In rare cases, I may need to preserve data for legal compliance. This is transparent and rare, not hidden surveillance

What I Never Do With Your Data:

  • ❌ Sell Your Data: I never sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties. Your privacy isn't a commodity
  • ❌ Targeted Advertising Beyond Basic: The platform has minimal advertising, but I don't create detailed profiles for targeting. Basic ads, not invasive tracking
  • ❌ Profile Building: I don't combine data sources to build profiles about you. Each data point serves its purpose, not a hidden agenda
  • ❌ Share With Game Developers: Even if I wanted to share platform analytics with Fear Me's creators (which I don't), the iframe isolation means I have nothing about your game experience to share

Questions About Privacy? Let's Talk

In Fear Me, characters often wish they'd asked questions earlier, before secrets spiraled into consequences. Here, I want you to ask questions before concerns become fears. Privacy shouldn't be mysterious—it should be transparent.
